As the end of 2022 draws to a close, we wanted to reflect on what a year it’s been for the Estate. Check out our 2022 in review: a year of change post!

The year started off with groundwork for what is now Highgate Cabins. Metcalf’s worked at great speed to get us up and ready to receive our first Highgate Cabin. 

In March and April, we started to develop our new quadrangle space. Situated at Highgate and surrounded by heritage farm buildings, the quadrangle provides our cabin guests with a space to reflect, read a book or even mingle with other guests. 

In the summer we finally took delivery of our first cabin – Brow Wood and within a couple of months, it was ready and waiting to welcome the first guests! We’ve had a fantastic response so far and can’t wait for our guests to experience this magical place through the changing of the seasons in 2023. Here’s just a snapshot of what our guests have thought so far:

“If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all then Brow Wood cabin really is the place. Beautifully furnished and cosy. Set in the woods, quiet and peaceful. Minimal light coming through too. Just what was needed for our long weekend away. Would highly recommend. We felt very welcomed and help was provided as and when needed. Thank you” Farrah Mir

“So glad we found this brand-new cabin in the North Lakes. It really was a home from home. Everything was new and worked! and all carefully and tastefully curated. Alongside this, we undertook lots of work to maintain the Estate with dry stone walling and rewilding our ancient Brow Wood so that it can be beautifully left as nature intended. 

Ending the year on a high, we have now broken ground on the next two cabins at Highgate. Work has commenced at pace and we look forward to having them ready for guests in March 2023. Keep an eye out for more information and for when bookings go live!
