Autumn Winds and Stormy Weather

September 29, 2018

We are having problems with the website this month so I have not been able to write my blog and even now I can’t upload pictures. Modern technology is all very well, but some times I miss pen and paper. This month has been full of weather, various storms have battered us and caused a loss of electricity for 8 hours. My son and I had to revert to candles and playing board games. Even he quite liked it, he said, but lo and behold as soon as the lights came back on he got up from the kitchen table with the words “Right back to the iPad!”. Thus playing games with mum was fun until some thing more entertaining was on offer. Allparents know that as a fact of life. However the end of the month has been a complete contrast with sunshine and beautiful dry days. The grass is growing well with the rain early on in the month and now the warm sunshine. It got to 17 degrees on Wednesday. This year has been a weather adventure, the Beast from the East, a summer drought and then Storm Ali in September. Who knows what mother nature has in store for the last quarter of the year? If she is listening and open to suggestion I fancy a quiet time. Unfortunately I think she has selective hearing.

Passed down through generations, our family and history are at the heart of the approximately 300 acre Hutton John Estate.
