Groundworks have Begun!

Planning never goes smoothly, you always feel you are banging your head against a brick wall and you will never get there. But as with so many things you just have to keep calm and keep going. So now, after 3 years Highgate Cabins is within sight. The team at Metcalf’s have already got on at breakneck speed and things have changed in just one week. That’s what a couple of diggers and good weather can do for you. Peter, Cam, Oliver and Luke (who hurt his ankle on day two and has had to take a break, but thankfully not literally) are doing a brilliant job. Geoff, the site manager, has helped me hobble round every day to see how things are progressing and Tony helped me with the word of the week- future-proofing. Peter has answered all my many and varied questions with a smile and I have learnt a lot. The barn below will be removed over the weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing what next week has in store. The weather still looks amenable. What could possibly go wrong?!?😊
