HuttonJohn Estate’s Third Holiday Let in the Lake District

Highgate is now finished and live on the Lakelover’s website. I have so many people to thank for turning it into a spectacular holiday home. There was so much work that needed doing and I think the result will be a real home away from home for anyone who stays there. Everyone has worked very hard and the house has been finished on time and in double quick time considering the amount of work that had to be completed. However the finished product is of the highest standard.

Hoping that I don’t forget anyone. Dennis of course neeeds a big thank you, especially foe helping whilst also having to build a new chicken shed on his farm! It gets without sayin than Mark and Darren did a sterling job with the plumbing. They also did their fair share of furniture removal, acting beyond the call of duty. Stephen and Louis are electricians extraordinaire and are always willing to help me with anything, even if it’s not electrical. Shaun Boyd needs a special mention as the joiner come handyman. I know many people would not have helped me put up pictures and clean windows, but Shaun is never fazed by any request. Donald and Colin plastered a lot of walls and were very gentle with telling me each additional piece of bad news, that another wall was falling apart now they had removed the wallpaper. In the end the majority of the place has been re-plastered. Paul the tiler helped make the kitchen look fabulous and Aaron who couldn’t be on site this time as he is recuperating from a traffic accident, but was there is spirit. Chris completed the ground works will aplomb and was always on hand with a cheerful smile and taught me a bit about good silage. Karen made all the curtains and blinds and I think has surpassed herself this time by working whilst having a small baby of just a few moths old. Don’t know how she did it. Becky, Helen, Georgia and Marion cleaned the house till it was sparkling and looking its absolute best. Mr Maxwell who is the master of the garden has turned the wilderness in to something beautiful, with some help from Sue and David who cut the trees. Lastly I want to say that Chunky (in name only) and Simon are the newest addition to the team. They are without doubt the best decorators that I have come across. They had to deal with the walls and ceilings that were not re-plastered and 8 bags of filler later, the walls were like new. I could not be more proud of the wonderful work you have done and made Highgate looks so fantastic. If I have forgotten anyone then I apologise, but there were a lot of you and my memory if failin with middle age! Bless you all and a sigh of relief, until I find my next project.
