Summer is gone

It has been a good summer, for the visitors at least plenty of sunshine and dry weather, with little rain. Dacre beck was very low for a time and the grass was looking a little parched. But it’s time for a proper deluge and no doubt that will come in the Autumn. September can be a strange month and 2021 certainly had one of those unusual weather patterns. We had a few days of an Indian summer with very, very hot unseasonally dry weather. So some times you have to use your imagination to try to keep cool. Shadow is always inventive.

Dedicated to my mum, who loved the heat such a lot and missed it this year.

Passed down through generations, our family and history are at the heart of the approximately 300 acre Hutton John Estate.
