Dotted around the Estate, our beautifully restored three traditional cottages are each within their own nook of privacy. Designed by Kate to reflect heritage beauty combined with modern day living, each interior has been specially chosen to ensure you enjoy a home away from home.

With a plethora of walks on their doorstep, our 18th and 19th century Lakeland Cottages provide a blissful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Each with stylish and thoughtful interiors, our self-catering luxury cottages sleep between four and ten people; perfect for couples, families and groups (as well as four-legged friends).

Lacet Cottage

Originally built as two cottages, the 19th-century Lacet Cottage has been lovingly restored and refurbished to create spacious, open-plan, living spaces whilst retaining the abiding character of the Lakeland vernacular.

The tranquil spot is just minutes from Ullswater by car and has a whole host of walks right from the front door.

Home Farm House was built in 1849 by Andrew Fleming Hudleston as the gatehouse to the Estate and was part of a working farm. Restored and refurbished in 2017, the house sits in its own grounds with plenty of space to sit and take in the wonderful views of Little Mell Fell and beyond. Walk into Hutton and over the little stone bridge and you’ll find some footpaths and bridleways.

Sleeps: 10

Highgate was built in 1770 by Andrew “the Counsellor” Hudleston. A very spacious house, now fully modernised, it is perfect for families and larger groups. The house stands on the edge of a small working farm combining Cumbrian life with easy access to Penrith and Keswick. Feel free to walk in the fields in front of the house and over to Brow Wood or take the footpath to Dacre.

Sleeps: 2

The Gardener’s Bothy was built in 1870 by Laura Henrietta Hudleston. With its handy location beside the Estate’s walled garden, the bothy was originally used as living quarters for the gardening team and now provides spacious accommodation for two adults. The bothy leads out onto the walled garden and comes with a patio area for alfresco dining and a wood-fired hot tub.
